It is the day of the year in which London shows its quiet side, although there is still much to enjoy on Christmas Day.
Although Christmas Day in the capital is much quieter than usual, no shortage of activities to enjoy. This is a unique opportunity to explore and experience a different aspect of the city.
Displacement
There is no public transport on Christmas Day, but you can opt for a Boris bike to explore central London with much less traffic than usual. There are also some taxis and mini-cabs to get around.
Because transportation options are limited, once consumed thousands of Christmas calories, walking is perhaps the best option. You can peacefully enjoy the beautiful London architecture, street art and the Christmas lights, and walking is the best way to do it.

Most London attractions are closed on Christmas Day. However, some attractions are open.
Go to the Serpentine in Hyde Park, where members tanned Serpentine Swimming Club participate in the annual race of the Peter Pan Cup.
Christmas Masses

Eat and drink
Many restaurants are closed on Christmas Day, although some remain open for lunch or dinner. Most restaurants require booking in advance for dinner on Christmas Day.
Some pubs open for a few hours around lunchtime, but most are closed or require payment of tickets to access. Consultation in advance opening hours. The hotel bars are a good option for a drink on Christmas Day, although it is also advisable to check in advance the opening hours for each hotel.
Boxing Day (December 26)
The day after Christmas (known as "Boxing Day" in the UK) is also fairly quiet. Some of the January sales begin this day. Most attractions remain closed.
There is public transportation, but with limited options; check the website of Transport for London to plan your journey.
